It is exciting times here at Arvato with something big on the way. I can’t say too much about it yet but it’s about to make life a whole lot more fun. And that got me thinking about what brought me to Arvato Financial Solutions in the first place.
As I had already been working with electronic payments and financial solutions for a couple of years, I knew it was an industry in transformation with all kinds of opportunities surfacing. Since then e-commerce has gone from strength to strength: PostNord’s e-barometer survey found that Nordic consumers spent SEK 161,6 billion online in 2015, a 15% increase on the previous year. Wow!
So, business was booming, but I had never heard of Arvato when I happened to come across them on LinkedIn. And soon enough I realised it was virtually unheard of in Sweden. But once I started to dig a little deeper, I discovered that this was a huge international player, with 70,000 employees and hundreds of customers worldwide.
I also learnt that there was an Arvato Financial Solutions – Nordic and that it had some big-name clients and was coming up with cutting-edge FinTech solutions – an innovator moving fast to increase its share of the market. Double wow! Here was a story to tell: a content marketer’s dream.
The tagline – “convenience in every transaction” – resonated with me. At the end of the day, payment solutions are all about optimising the customer experience (and making some money doing it). Now I was really curious. These guys sounded like they were on to something and I wanted to be part of it.
So to fast forward, here I am, having taken on the challenge to make content the lifeblood of our marketing, the fuel that will drive our future success. I realise that this won’t take place overnight – like I said, it’s a challenge – but there’s a lot to work with: new e-commerce trends and business insights to report; exciting clients to benchmark; great colleagues with loads of expertise; a truly international environment buzzing with drive and determination.
Hang on, there’s more: our AfterPay solution is already causing a stir and will shortly be joined by something else that promises to reshape consumer behaviour using the latest in NFC technology. Imagine payments smoother than you ever experienced, that only take a second. Awesome.
That’s my story. Now it’s time to tell Arvato’s story.
